Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born September 5 1973) is an American actress and
activist. After her film debut in a short role in the comedy Encino Man (1992),
McGowan was recognized for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation
(1995), receiving an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut
Performance. She had her breakthrough in the film horror Scream (1996) which
later featured in the film Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998)
and Jawbreaker (1999). In the 2000s, McGowan became known to viewers on
television for her performance as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama
series Charmed (2001-2006). Quentin Tarantino directed her double-feature film
Grindhouse (2006), in which she won the Saturn Award for Best Actress and the
Scream Award to Best Scream Queen. In 2014, she was a part in Chosen, an action
thriller series. She dropped Planet 9, her first album as a studio artist in
the year 2018, and a repackaging of the album was released in 2020. McGowan was
recognized by Time as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the
Year in the year 2017. She made a statement about harassment and sexual assault
particularly the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. She's written her memoir,
Brave, and starred in the documentary series Citizen Rose, which consists of
four parts. Citizen Rose, both in 2018.
