Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor she is a popular TV host. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and bubbly persona Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides clear, easy to learn techniques for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of many of New York's best establishments, studied Italian food as well as its traditions. She also participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was fascinated by food. Following her graduation with an English and Communication degree from Canisius College in Buffalo NY she became interested in the business of restaurant by enroling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. She says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." I couldn't learn and do enough. Following graduation, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy which has had an impact on her culinary style. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador in the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She has been on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps children with obstacles. As a guest speaker and mentor, she travels all over the United States to discuss her culinary passion and career. Anne often has mentioned throughout her culinary career that she feels so fortunate being able to communicate with people what is really important for her.
